As some of you may have heard, Google has finally released official Android 4.3 as of yesterday.  Well, it will eventually get pushed to your device if you are not rooted but for those of you who are rooted, you can easily update your Nexus 10 to the official Android 4.3 with root using the Android 4.3 ROM.  This is identical to the actual OTA update and you do not have to unroot to get it.

Simply, install the Android 4.3 ROM just as you would with any other custom ROM.  To get root, just install the latest SuperSU from ChainFire.

What’s different with Android 4.3?

Android 4.3 comes with expanded multi-user mode and option to create restricted profiles which can be great for parents restricting their kid’s access to certain apps. Also, Android 4.3 now supports Bluetooth Smart tech, which will allow pairing to low-powered bluetooth devices like fitness sensors. Also Bluetooth AVRCP 1.3 is supported.

There are many other enhancements that will improve the performance on your tablet like OpenGL ES 3.0, a new graphics engine for better 3D graphics on games. For battery life, you can expect greater battery life with lots of tweaks like the new WiFi “scan-only” that will allow your tablet to scan WiFi without turning it on.

Overall, this all just means more horsepower and longer battery life with many, new added features for your Nexus 10. If you are not on this already, go grab the zip files and try it out yourself!

Ops… Just installed 4.3 ROM, but lost root.
I’ve tried installing SuperSU zip but nothing… It’s possible to re-root without losing all the contents on my N10?

    Hi,

Seems like I did the mistake updating my 4.2.2 rooted Nexus 10 with OTA Android 4.3. Super SU doesn’t work and asking to re-root the device – how do I do that?

  3. Veno says:

Thanks for the video, always fun watching your videos. Quick question, with the 4.3 update on the Nexus 10, I notice that Google pushed out another update a small patch, can I update to that being rooted?
Any way turn turn off OTA auto updates?

    Cheers

    Hi!

Justo got my Nexus 10 and updated to the 4.3 version. Can I root the device following the instructions of the 4.2 root in OSX with this new 4.3 ROM?? Or do I have to root with 4.2 and then update to the 4.3 ROM??
